Strike is over

The strike is now over and library services are back to normal.

Update June 5th: The strike is over and services are back to normal.

Unio is on strike after failing to reach an agreement with the state in salary negotiations and has now taken out 28 employees at the Oslo University Library. This means that the library desks at our libraries will be unmanned at times, response time to inquiries will increase, and guidance services and courses may be canceled.

Other services are affected as follows:

Open research

  • There is currently no staff available at the support address to answer inquiries about Open Access, including open publishing.
  • Inquiries about DUO Research Archive, including problems with uploading thesis papers, will not be answered at times. This is not considered to have serious consequences for master students.
  • The journal platform FRITT will not be followed up on. Inquiries will not be answered, and DOI will not be deposited for most new articles.
  • PhD theses will not be registered and made available in DUO.
  • Inquiries regarding DataverseNO at UiO will not be answered. Datasets will not be curated.

Library catalog Oria

It may take longer to fix any operational issues and errors. There is also reduced staffing at the Oria help service.

Purchasing

The strike may have consequences for the purchase of books, journals, databases, etc.
