What are you learning?
Esten Leonardsen from the Department of Psychology at UiO provides an introduction to machine learning, with a special focus on convolutional neural networks. The workshop includes a practical demonstration in Python (Linux). After a period of theory, you will get to try it yourself, with practical help from instructors and other good helpers.
What do you need?
Bring your own PC. You should be able to program already, but you do not necessarily need to know much about machine learning. It would be an advantage if you have some knowledge of GitHub, Jupyter Notebook, and Python - possibly also Tensorflow and Keras.
Before the workshop, we strongly recommend that you complete the installation guide (github.com). Do everything under "Setup", including "Downloading the dataset" and "Restructuring". Then you are ready for the workshop, where you will use Jupyter notebook to work with the machine learning guide (guide.ipynb).
Target audience
The workshop is free and open to everyone, but please note that there are limited spaces.
