Data management planning

Get started with data management planning for your research!

Course presentation

 

In this 90-minute course we will introduce data management plans (DMPs) and discuss why having a data management plan is useful and beneficial. We will go over the main parts that should be included in a plan and discuss best practices for writing a DMP. We will also look over the requirements from UiO and external funders, and discuss different DMP templates.

We will wrap up with a question and answer session where you will be able to ask us any questions you have about data management planning!

Target Audience

PhD students, Postdocs, researchers, and research support staff at the University of Oslo.

Learning Objectives

After the workshop, you:

  • are familiar with the concept of a data management plan
  • know UiO's requirements for data management planning
  • know best practices for writing a data management plan for your project(s)
  • are familiar with the main components of a data management plan

Setup

The course will take place on Zoom and is delivered by The University of Oslo Library and Digital Scholarship Center – as part of the Skills Development for Research Data project funded by the UiO Advisory Council for eInfrastructure.
