Preregistration on Open Science Framework (OSF)

Learn about how to preregister your study on Open Science Framework (OSF) and how to navigate the platform.

Description

More and more researchers across disciplines are preregistering their hypotheses, methods, and analysis plans before they collect or analyze the data, which helps increase research transparency and rigor. Open Science Framework (OSF) provides a well-developed platform for research registration and sharing, but it can be sometimes difficult to navigate.

In this 90-minute workshop we will guide you through the process of preregistration on OSF, including the use of OSF Registries and a walk-through multiple preregistration templates that OSF offers. We will also show you how to use OSF projects and other functions on the platform, so that you can get the most out of it!

We will wrap up with a question and answer session where you will be able to ask us any questions you might have about preregistrations and the OSF platform!

Target Audience

PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and research support staff at the University of Oslo.

Learning Objectives

After the course, you will:

  • know how to navigate the OSF platform
  • know how to preregister a research study on the OSF platform
  • have an overview over different preregistration templates on OSF
  • be familiar with different functions for research registration and sharing on OSF

Setup

The course will take place digitally on Zoom and meeting link will be sent out to the registered participants the day before the course.
