Course presentation
Description
Open research is becoming the new normal and an increasing number of funders requires that researchers publish open access and share their data, methods and tools to improve research transparency and reproducibility. It also contributes to increased rigor, robustness and visibility of research studies. But what does it mean to make your research open and reproducible? And how do you do it?
In this 90-minute course we will introduce the concepts of open research and reproducibility. We will also give you an overview over different components of open research as well as new open research policies and research assessment systems. Finally, we will discuss the benefits, challenges and ways of implementing these practices in your own research.
We will wrap up with a question and answer session where you will be able to ask us any questions you might have about open and reproducible research!
Target Audience
Primarily PhD students, postdocs, researchers, and research support staff at the University of Oslo. There are a few spots for external participants and those from other Norwegian/Nordic universities are especially welcome to attend.
