Step-by-Step Guide to Archiving Data in UiO's DataverseNO Repository

This half-day workshop will introduce you to the data archiving process at the University of Oslo (UiO) collection of the general data archive DataverseNO. The participants will learn how to archive their own research data openly.

  • Learn about the benefits of archiving research data
  • Document and write readme files for research data
  • Upload data to DataverseNO
  • Fill out metadata in DataverseNO
  • Know how to cite their data in a publication
  • Get a DOI for the dataset
  • Be familiar with versioning in DataverseNO
  • Be familiar with the preparation of data for double-blind peer-review

Prerequisites

All participants must have research data of some kind for open sharing. Consult the data archiving web pages or contact research-data@uio.no if you have questions.

Target audience

PhDs, PosDocs, and other researchers who would like to openly archive research data in the DataverseNO UiO collection.

Required Materials 

In addition to a laptop, the participant will need a dataset to work on.
