What are data stewards doing?

In this data mangers network meeting, we invite you for discussions and reflection on our own profession, i.e. data steward. According to some the fastest growing job.  At this meeting, we invite you to share what you do and learn what others do in their work. The aim is to move one step closer to finding out from each others' experiences about what the profession of a data steward/manager entails.

10:00 – Welcome and invitation to join as future network and board members,  Live Kvale
10:10 – Data Steward survey and profiles at ELIXIR, Nazeefa Fatima
10:30 – Group Activity 1: Profile handout and discussion on your role, skills, and career path as data steward/manager
11:00 – Reporting of group activities
11:10 – Lessons learned: summary from BioMedData, Nazeefa Fatima and Michal Torma
11:30 – Lunch break (simple lunch is served)
12:00  – Summary of discussions from the ELIXIR Norway event “Data Stewards in the public sector of the Norwegian job system”, Live
12:15  – Group Activity 2:, Discussion on data steward profession
12:45 – Reporting of group activities and 
13:15  – Wrap up, Dag Endresen
13:30 - End

 

This meeting will be more interactive, workshop like to discuss the data stewards role.

 

About the data managers network meetings 

UiO Data Managers Network is an informal network for research data managers affiliated with the University of Oslo. The network aims to enable information exchange, initiate action, and create new interdisciplinary collaborations through sharing of cases and examples of data management practices.

The UiO Data Managers Network organizes regular meetings for the members and open to others who are interested where different topics related to data management practices are addressed.
