Nerdy Science Cakes Competition

Now it's time to iron the apron and brush the dust off the rolling pin. Join this year's sweetest and most nerdy cake baking competition. Bake alone, challenge your nemesis or best friend for a bake-off, or join a super-team!

Nerdy Science Cakes Competition.

March 14 is not just π-day. It is also the birthday of Albert Einstein and our own Vilhelm Bjerknes. And of course most important of all: The Science Library turns 10 years old!

It's super easy to participate

All you have to do is:

  1. Find a cool Nerdy concept you want to bake.
  2. Bake and decorate with scientific consideration for shape and form. Be as creative as you like.
  3. Deliver your cake at the Science Library on Monday 14 March between 9-11.

Cake show

The cake show starts at 11. Then everyone can admire the spectacular cakes and hear the ingenious ideas behind them. There will be birthday entertainment and presentation of the winners. Of course we have great prizes, and the Nerdy Science Cakes trophy must change hands. But what would a birthday party have been without cake eating? Expect a sugar rush!

This year's jury consists of UiO:Life Science Director Carl Henrik Gørbitz, head of the Science Library Live Rasmussen and super confectioner Quentin Courdet.

Welcome to everyone. May the most nerdy cake win!
