Research data sharing policies of institutions, funding agencies, and journals have changed considerable over the last two decades, in parallel with access to faster internet and technological solutions making the sharing practical and meaningful. As a contribution to the open science movement and follow up on new developments in neuroinformatics, the European Commission has funded the creation of the EBRAINS Data and Knowledge services for sharing of data, computational models, and related software, targeting brain and brain-inspired sciences. These subject specific services employ a curation workflow, a unified metadata model, a knowledge graph for metadata management, search, and access to data for download or use in online workspaces.
