Access to the library
- Students and staff have access with a student card or employee ID card and pin code: every day from 05:00 to 24:00
- External users, and users from NIVA and TØI can use the library during the building's opening hours: weekdays 07:00-18:00

Lending machine for books
- Press checkout, checkin or patron status
- Scan your card on the scanner to the right of the screen
- Follow the instructions on the screen
- Leave the book on the plate for a few extra seconds
- If necessary, choose to receive a receipt
Pick up reserved and ordered books
- Find the book with your collection number from the collection shelf
- Go to the lending machine and borrow with your loan card/UiO card
Books borrowed from other libraries in Norway or abroad are placed on the collection shelf in an envelope marked with the name of the borrower and a written message that "The book has been lent to you" with the current date it was placed on the collection shelf.
Find books in the library
- Look up the book in Oria
- Find shelf number
- Check the end of the shelf to see if you are in the right place before moving along the shelf
- When you have found the book, you can borrow it by using the lending machine
Return books
You can either return the book to the return box outside the entrance to the library, or you can return books at the lending machine.
Books borrowed from other libraries in Norway or abroad cannot be returned at the machine, but must be placed in the return box outside the entrance to the library.
Printing
To print, you must use mobile print from your own portable device. At the heart of the library you will find a kitchenette and a printer. On the printer there is also a note with an overview of other printers in the building.
Wireless network
The wireless network at UiO is called Eduroam, and requires a login.
