Visit the library

Welcome to the library! Here you can enjoy a bright and peaceful space, with plenty of workstations, comfy chairs, OUS-computers and printing facilities. With your OUS-staff card you can also access the library outside of normal opening hours.

You can find us at Rikshospitalet, right inside the employee entrance, and at Ullevål in Midtblokka. You can also use all of the other UiO libraries.

Literature searching

Are you writing an article, updating procedures on the ward, developing a systematic review, or just want to update your knowledge? We have a good overview of databases, and a lot of experience with literature searching.

Book an appointment, or get immediate help on Zoom.

Loans, reservations and access

Our collections consist of books, databases, journals etc in medicine and healthcare. We have also medical graphic novels, and a collection of medical fiction. You can access our databases, journals and e-books when you are working on an OUS-computer or the OUS "arbeidsflate".

To borrow or reserve books or research articles you need to be registered in the library system, pop into one of our libraries or send us an e-mail.

Courses at the library

We have lots of relevant courses for staff and researchers at OUS, including courses in litterature searching, citing and referencing, Open Access publishing, and critical appraisal of research articles.

Publishing

Are you going to publish an article and need help?

EndNote help

Staff at OUS have access to the reference management software Endnote both from the OUS-pc and also on the personal PC or Mac. Kontakt Min Sykehuspartner to get access on your OUS-pc. The library provides courses and support in Endnote.

Visit from the library

We are very happy to come out to visit the department and go through tips and tricks for searching in PubMed, using e-books, Open Access publishing etc.

Subject guides

On the subject guide for medicine we have an overview over the services and resources available from the library. You can also find links to medical databases, the course overview, lists of new books in the library, and lots of other useful things.
