The UiOslo iGEM team-22 achieved silver medal in the international competition in synthetic biology iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine).
We celebrate the team with cake!
This year's project is CellulALT:
We use synthetic biology to produce a modified bacterial cellolose that can be a starting point for the sustainable production of medical equipment and a supplement in nutrition in extreme situations such as prolonged drought, war or space exploration.
The iGEM competition is an annual, worldwide event where student-teams from all over the world meet to solve global challenges using synthetic biology. The UiO team will have the opportunity to apply their creativity and problem-solving skills in combination with community collaboration for the needs of a student active project.
