Summary
This week, we worked further on updating the Visual Navigation Project website, as well as specific proposals for the VIRAK library conference. Furthermore, our visualizations so far were tested and demonstrated in combination with the touch table. Finally, we presented at a staff seminar of the Law Library of the University of Oslo.

Testing our visualizations and early visual navigation demos with the touch table in the Science Library

Navigation and interaction has to be partially rethought:

For instance, no mouse-overs are possible, as would be on a computer, but one can only touch / “tap” items (e.g. book covers)

Dragging and rearranging “books” on the touch table screen works, but is not optimal (screen may lose track of your movements), Kyrre and Hugo are looking at ways to improve and circumvent this.

Todo: test out features to “pinch” zoom and rotate items in our prototypes
